During the initial study, a group of forty obese people, aged 19 to 52, were monitored during their weight loss attempts. While both groups were ordered to follow a strict, low carb diet, only one group received three grams of wild mango seed extract per day. The other group of participants only received a placebo. The results of the study were abundantly clear: The group that was given the wild mango seed extract lost an average of 11.5 pounds, while the placebo group only lost an average of three pounds. Clearly, the wild mango was accelerating weight loss - but how?

The Science Behind Wild Mango Seed Extract

In order to get to the bottom of why wild mangoes seem to hold such promise for weight loss, you need to take a more scientific look into the phenomenon. Wild mango seed extract seems to reduce levels of something called C-reactive protein in the body. C-reactive proteins are known to bond with leptin - an appetite-control hormone - causing that hormone to become less effective. People with excessive levels of C-reactive protein in their bodies have a more difficult time suppressing their appetites, while those with low levels of it achieve more pronounced weight loss.
